About Rechargeable Battery Materials
We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing
As Sales Manager Europe, you act as a prime customer interface and support the Director Sales & Business Development in all business related activities to reach the Rechargeable Battery Materials Business Unit (RBM) sales objectives!
You manage RFI/RFQ for direct cathode supply and take ownership together with Director Sales & Business Development on strategic pricing.
You grow sales volumes and strengthens the RBM presence in European market.
You coordinate raw material availability discussions at the customer and develop meaningful long term supply options together with the raw material supply team.
You build closed loop scheme’s with the customer in close collaboration with the recycling colleagues at Umicore.
You support the sustainability discussion with the customer and brings in Umicore teams where needed.
You develop an understanding for customer trends and how these translate into cell requirements.
You follow up the new product qualifications with key customers and transfer it into a meaningful business scale.
You provide accurate estimates on Umicore positioning in terms of pricing and commercial terms.
Who we are looking for
You have a master degree (legal, engineering, business,…) and a few years of relevant professional experience in a technical commercial environment;
You have a self-starting personality and can-do mentality;
You are capable of balancing the conflicting interest between customers and Umicore;
You have experience with metal hedging or have a strong interest to rapidly master it;
You are open to travel 20-30% of the time (mainly in Europe);
You have a sound knowledge of English. French and/or German are a plus;
You work independently and take ownership of your assigned tasks;
You are flexible to deal with a constantly evolving environment and are stress-resistant;
You take initiative and are not easily demotivated.
